The Shanghai Artist Association

Established in 1954, the Shanghai Artist Association is a group of art experts. Now, it has about 1251 members, including the 348 national members and 148 oversea Chinese members. In Shanghai area, it has gathered the elderly and the youth artists with different skills of painting and achievements. As they possess their own Specialties and Art Creations with their own individualities, it has already formed the multi-cultural artistic features in Shanghai area.

The works of the Shanghai Artist Association is mainly purpose of organizing and connecting the Shanghai artists engaging in the various artistic creations, included the experiencing the real life, holding some art exhibitions, expanding the academic research and discuss, and boosting the art communications with home and abroad. By holding the different forms of the art exhibitions every year, the association has continuously introduced some new artists and their new artworks. On the other hand, the Shanghai Artist Association has been in charge of the assignments for selecting and introducing the Shanghai artworks through holding the A-Level of the National Art Exhibitions in Shanghai area.
